The Argentine forward played a starring role for FC Barcelona last term, weighing in with 26 goals as the Azulgranas claimed domestic glory.

Lionel Messi (24 June 1987, Rosario, Argentina) picked up the award for the Best Striker in LaLiga Santander 2015/16, an accolade which recognises the forward as the top attacking player in last season's Spanish top flight.
Last term saw Barcelona's number 10 yet again prove to be one of the leading lights in his side's attack, as the Catalan giants clinched the league title for the 24th time in the club's history. Messi racked up 2,729 minutes of playing time across 33 appearances, in which he claimed 26 goals and 16 assists, whilst he recovered possession on no less than 71 occasions. Messi took his place alongside Neymar and Luis Suarez to form an irresistible attacking trident, in which the Argentine once again treated supporters to his impressive repertoire of tricks and produced countless moments to remember.
Messi scoops this distinction for the second year running, after having been named the Best Striker in LaLiga Santander 2014/15 at the LaLiga Premios Gala 2015.
