AWARDS PRIZES TO WINNERS OF 2020 STELLAMARIS FOUNDATION ESSAY COMPETITION.

On Monday 7th September 2020

Nwede Chiamaka Stellamaris joined by the Technical Assistant to the Governor, Hon Egbo Chinagorom Franklin award the winners of SFON 2020 ESSAY COMPETITION. 

The event which took place at HAYATT SUITE HOTEL, Enugu state
The Founder of SFON,  Miss Nwede Chiamaka Stellamaris , said in her welcome  address, " it has connected with the nation’ s youths in building the nation’ s future leaders in the area of capacity development". 
While she noted that the competition was part of the corporate social responsibilities of the foundation  to inspire learning  and build future leaders. 
 
She explained that the competition was also a huge platform for the youths to contribute their ideas to the pressing issues in the society,  through the topics given to them to explore in the competition. 
“I strongly believe that if we get the people's issue right, we can get every sector of the economy working right and what better way to start this than from the youth, our leaders of tomorrow.”

She noted that the awareness over the  essay competition was tremendous , adding that “this is a clear indication of the appeal of this platform among our youth and its amazing opportunities for self -expression and growth.”
She said for the 2020 edition of the competition, we received quite number of entries  and an elaborate process was followed in determining the winners, of which the  three were selected as the winners.

She extended her immense appreciation to HON. CHIMA OBIEZE, HON. CHIDI ILOGEBE and Hon.  EGBO CHINAGOROM FRANKLIN for their SPONSORSHIP, she also thanked NTA Enugu and ESBS for coming.   

HON. PRINCE EGBO CHINAGOROM FRANKLIN , one of sponsor and the promoter of the essay competition ,   applauded Stellamaris  for the well thought of initiative which according to him will be an avenues to engaged the youth on national issues.

He noted that their perspectives on national issues would paint a picture of what they felt the future would look like .

Noted that Youth are no longer leaders of tomorrow rather they are leaders of today, he charge the youth to rise up. He equally Noted that His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, is  a youth friendly Governor that the Youths should support his Government and equally pray for him. 

He noted that His Excellency changed his life by telling him that " in any position you found yourself in, try to make a difference by impacting in people's life". 

On this Note, Hon. Egbo Chinagorom Franklin stated that after receiving the words of knowledge from The Governor of Enugu State, he then started an outreach called TOUCH A LIFE CAMPAIGN which he stated that he will touch alot of life's within Enugu State. 

He equally congratulated the winners and urged them to continue  carrying  the torch of excellence. 

The awardees expressed joy and satisfaction and duly thanked the Organizers for the transparent processes that produced them.

Delivering the closing Remark, the Deputy Coordinator National association of Nigeria students zone B, Comrade Darl Ugwuegbe, noted in his speech that the youth are the trustees of prosperity and the greatest asset bequeathed to any Nation. He advocated for a conscientious effort to ensure proper mentoring is done to achieve the requisite paradigm shift per time. 

Comr Edeani. M. Edeani, National president of Nkanu Youths Assembly commended Stellamaris for the essay competition initiative and call other to emulate stellamaris foundation  by organizing related programmes that could assist our youths to embrace learning and research practices. 

He equally congratulated His Excellency 
Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, for his quality leadership in Enugu State at large and urged everyone to support his administration for good. 

In addition,  Member Representing Enugu East Youths in the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Hon. Benjamin Zion Arinzechukwu, advised the winners to be focused and not to be distracted from achieving their core goal in life. "

No matter what your dream is without sight you will not reach the goal" he said.  

Hon Zion gave cash of fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000) to the winners and the host of the competition. 

Comr.  Odoh Ogechukwu, congratulated the winners and also commended the organizer for promoting writing in Nigeria. 

The highlight of the occasion was the official presentation of Cash rewards, Award, Novel and  certificate of participation  to the winners of the 2020 Stellamaris foundation essay competition.   

The overall  winner Ahuchagu King David Ikenna, a student of Enugu  State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) received a Cash reward, Novel,  Award, and Certificate of participation. 

1st Runner Up, Vivian Vincent, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU or UNIZIK), Awka Anambra State got a Cash reward, Novel and Certificate of participation. 

2nd runner up Eze Nnenna received cash price, Novel and Certificate of participation.
